Completed commercial flat roofing project in the East Midlands

Commercial & public sector

Commercial flat roofing across the East Midlands

Thirty-five years of commercial and public-sector work — schools, healthcare buildings, councils, utility sites, warehousing and retail units. Designed, installed and maintained by our own directly employed team.

Why contractors keep us on the list

A flat roofing contractor that is easy to manage

Commercial roofing is judged differently from domestic work. It is not only whether the roof is watertight — it is whether the contractor turns up on the agreed date, keeps the site safe, produces the paperwork without being chased, and does not hold up the programme behind them.

We have been on the approved supplier lists of house builders, contractors and public bodies across the region for decades, and much of our commercial work now arrives as repeat business or direct recommendation.

  • Directly employed operatives — CSCS certified, UKATA asbestos trained, DBS checked
  • Documentation on request — RAMS, insurance, training records, waste transfer notes
  • Programme certainty — dates agreed, updated daily, and met
  • Phased working — buildings stay operational throughout

Sectors we work in

Buildings we look after

Offices & commercial units

Felt and liquid systems, phased replacements, and repairs scheduled around staff and tenants.

Schools & education

Term-time phasing, DBS-checked operatives and cold-applied systems where hot works are not permitted.

Healthcare

Infection-control-aware working, strict site discipline, and out-of-hours programmes where required.

Utilities & infrastructure

Substation, plant and operational buildings where access and safety planning is as important as the roof itself.

Warehousing & industrial

Large areas, cut-to-falls schemes, roof lights and maintenance contracts.

Retail & leisure

Working around trading hours, with temporary protection so the unit never has to close.

Housing & social landlords

Reactive repairs and planned replacement programmes with photographic condition reporting.

Manufacturers & food

Cold-applied membranes, no naked flames, and hygiene-aware working practices.

Planned preventative maintenance

Most commercial roof failures are cheaper to prevent than to repair. Our maintenance contracts cover scheduled inspections, clearance of outlets and gullies, localised repairs and an annual photographic condition report — so you have a defensible budget forecast instead of a surprise invoice when a roof lets go in February.

Tendering and enquiries

Send us a drawing, a specification or simply an address and a rough area, and we will come back with either a price or a survey appointment. For framework and tender work, we are happy to be added to your approved supplier list — documentation is available on request.

Thirty-five years of repeat commercial work is the only reference that really counts in this trade, and most of ours comes from contractors who simply keep coming back.

Frequently asked

Commercial roofing questions

What facilities managers, principal contractors and estates teams ask us most.

Regularly, and it is most of what we do. Roofs are surveyed and phased so that the building keeps operating: work is sequenced around your opening hours, noisy operations are scheduled outside them, and safe access routes are maintained at all times.

Yes. Method statements, risk assessments, £5m public liability and £10m employers' liability certificates, CSCS and UKATA training records, and commercial references are all issued as standard with our tender documents.

Where a building cannot tolerate naked flames — food production, healthcare, schools, occupied residential — we specify cold-applied liquid waterproofing so no hot works permit is required. Where torch-on is the right system, we work to your permit-to-work scheme.

Yes. We look after commercial and public-sector estate roofs on planned programmes of inspection, repair and phased replacement, with photographic condition reports each year so budgets can be forecast rather than reacted to.

Yes — we regularly tender from drawings and specifications issued by principal designers, as well as undertaking survey-based design where none has been produced.
