Established in 1990 by Shane Crossland and still working out of Mansfield Woodhouse. A family-run flat roofing business with credentials that predate most of the competition.
Our story
A specialist business, deliberately
Shane Crossland started Balmoral Flat Roofing in 1990 with a simple proposition: do flat roofing properly, and do it as a specialist rather than as one line on a long list of building trades. Forty years in the industry later, that has not changed.
We work for homeowners across Mansfield and the surrounding towns, and for local authorities, contractors and commercial estates who need a subcontractor that turns up with the right paperwork and finishes on programme. Many of those relationships are now measured in decades.
The business has deliberately stayed focused. We do not offer general building work, and we do not subdivide our attention across a dozen trades. Flat roofing — and the deck, insulation, drainage and detailing that make it work — is the whole job.

How we work
What dealing with us is actually like
Every quotation is itemised. Every survey comes with photographs. If a repair is the better spend, we say so — even though the replacement would be worth more to us. And if a roof does not need work at all, you will hear that too.

- Quotations are in writing and priced in detail, with exclusions stated rather than discovered later.
- Guarantees are confirmed before work starts — up to 15 years, manufacturer-backed, on qualifying systems.
